Recently I listened to a training call about the damage inflammation can cause to our body. I thought I would share what I learned with you in this issue. A few years ago I attended a seminar held by a local doctor who discussed the harmful affect of inflammation. I heard much of the same information on the training call and what I learned both times is that inflammation in the body is the cause of everything.
It is like a burning fire inside our body. So, here we go…….
Let’s begin with some causes of inflammation?
#1 Cause is STRESS – our emotions are killing us. We all know how dangerous it is to keep anger bottled up inside of us. If we hold on to anger it is destroying our body by going to the liver. It gets trapped there and then the process of free radicals begins and our immune system begins to break down. The natural response to injury or insult to the body is inflammation. What happens next is you go to the doctor and you are told that your cholesterol level is too high. The doctor puts you on a statin drug to lower it. So now your symptoms are being treated but the root of the problem is left untreated. Cholesterol is not the root problem but the inflammation is and that is something the doctors don’t tell us . We are constantly being told to keep the cholesterol down when in fact we should be told to keep the stress level down. Why is that?
#2 Cause is ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS. Such as the fire retardant products in new carpet, pesticides, hair care and body products and the list goes on and on. Seems like each day more people are educating themselves on the benefits of organic and natural products. Before I started using these oils I really never gave a thought to the fact the vegetables and fruits we eat have been sprayed with pesticides that are harmful to us. I certainly think about it now though!! (By the way, Lemon oil is great to use on produce and vegetables to remove the pesticides. Put a few drops in water and spritz. )
Are you allergic to anything? If so, you may be pro-inflammatory because as I mentioned earlier that is the body’s natural response to injury or insult. You may want to schedule an appointment with me to discuss this further.
So what do we do about it and how do we get inflammation under control?? Controlling the diet is the least effective way. The best way to control inflammation is to reduce STRESS.
